La Mistelera is a non profit/non political organisation that advocates tolerance, peaceful coexistence and respect for the environment and its inhabitants.
A space in which to share all forms of artistic expression.

Once upon a time, a group of friends came up with the idea of renting a small bar in which they would set up an alternative social club (CSA- Club Social Alternativa).
A place where like minded people would share ideas, common interests and all with a mutual objective; namely a space to enjoy social, creative and cultural activities.

The abandoned “Mistelera” (where once the Mistela-sweet wine was made) had caught the eye of a few friends.
The potential of this historic building was obvious to all those with a little imagination to spare: A space in which to carry out all manner of artistic and cultural activities without high cost to those who wished to participate and more importantly, No interference from the authorities.
The concept of “The Mistelera” was born.
Within a short time word had spread and a collective was formed which soon boasted up to a hundred and fifty members. An agreement was reached with the owners, the legalities were arranged and artistic progress began.
Over the years “La Mistelera” has played host to many forms of artistic expression: Music, dance, theatre, poetry readings, the list is endless.

-
All members pay a monthly quota of 10 euros to cover the upkeep and maintenance of the building and facilities.
Their continuing goal is to be recognized as widely as possible by all those who share a common interest, regardless of nationality race or religion, and keep the dream alive!
